Installing WUCRSL

INSTALLING WUCRSL or RE-INSTALLING WUCRSL

INSTALLING WUCRSL (where no previous version of WUCRSL exists on your computer)

As soon as you launch ftp://aissoftware.wustl.edu/wusoft/wucrsl/InstallWUCRSL.exe

  • Double click on the ‘InstallWC.exe’ file to launch it.
  • Click the ‘Save File’ button, so that the software can be downloaded and launched.

You will then see a box where the InstallWC.exe file is listed as one of your download choices.

  • Double click on the ‘InstallWC.exe’ file name inside the box.
  • Click ‘OK’ when the Open Executable File? box appears to execute the InstallWC.exe file.
  • Click ‘Run’ to launch the software when the Open File – Security Warning box appears.

If you do not have any other version of WUCRSL on your computer, go to the next step. If you have another (old or not working) version of WUCRSL on your computer, you will have to uninstall it first before proceeding. In this case, go to directions for Re-installing WUCRSL

  • Click ‘Next’ if making a brand new installation.
  • Click ‘Next’. The WUCRSL Setup window asks where you want to save the WUCRSL files. Choose the default setting. Do not alter the save location. Do not “Browse.” he location is C:\\Users\your named file\App Data\Local\Washington University\WUCRSL.

For example: The path for Susan Smith would be “C:\Users\susans\AppData\Local\Washington University\WUCRSL\”

  • Click ‘Finish’ to complete the final step, “Setup has finished installing WUCRSL on your computer.”

UNINSTALLING AND REINSTALLING WUCRSL

If you already have WUCRSL installed but you would like to uninstall or reinstall it to fix a problem, follow this next series of steps.

As soon as you launch ftp://aissoftware.wustl.edu/wusoft/wucrsl/InstallWUCRSL.exe

  • Double click on the ‘InstallWC.exe’ file to launch it.
  • Click the ‘Save File’ button, so that the software can be downloaded and launched.

You will then see a box where the ‘InstallWC.exe’ file is listed as one of your download choices.

  • Double click on the ‘InstallWC.exe’ file name inside the box.
  • Click ‘OK’ when the Open Executable File? box appears to execute the InstallWC.exe file.
  • Click ‘Run’ to launch the software when the Open File – Security Warning box appears.
  • If WUCRSL is already loaded on your computer, make sure the radio button for ‘Remove’ is selected and click ‘Next’.
  • Click ‘OK’ to completely remove the application.
  • Click ‘Finish’ to completely remove the program.

Once you have uninstalled (removed) WUCRSL, you may now reinstall it.
